What We Do Differently

There’s a lot about the way we run things at Here Comes The Guide that surprises people.

But the factor that raises the most eyebrows seems to be that we’ve chosen to steer clear of commission-based selling. Our main competitor has leaned into this element hard, and we think that that difference matters.

Here are some key reasons why we’ve made this choice:

1. Unbiased Recommendations:

When we recommend your venue, it’s because we genuinely believe it’s a great fit for our couples, not because we’re chasing a commission. Our goal is to provide unbiased advice to make their wedding day extraordinary.

2. What’s best for your venue is best for us:

We’ve been doing this work since 1989, and we know that if we prioritize marketing recommendations that truly match what’s best for your venue, you’ll trust us. Not just in the short term, but in the long term. We’re not in it for a quick transaction. Our focus is on building long-term relationships with venue owners and representatives like you, helping you grow your business sustainably.

3. We work as a team, not as individuals:

We’re all about a team environment at Here Comes The Guide. So all of our goals are tied to overall team revenue, not individual earnings. We see the benefits of this approach every day when we each cheer on our colleagues as they deepen their relationships with their venues.

Why does this matter to how you run your venue business?

Because I’ll bet that there are things that you are doing very differently than your direct competitors. And that matters. Because the ways we live our values matter to our prospective clients.
