3 Simple Steps to Harness the Power of Pinterest

It frankly blows my mind to know that, even in 2025 (!!), Pinterest is where most couples start dreaming about their wedding – often before they’re even engaged.

In fact, according to Think Splendid’s latest Global Wedding Report, 85% of couples are doing a chunk of their planning on Pinterest. And often, those visits are early in their planning journey. That is EXACTLY when you want them to find your venue.

So, juuuuust in case you are not currently prioritizing Pinterest in your marketing efforts, I asked our Pinterest guru, Chelsea Shorkey, to put together her super simple guide to Pinterest success.

1. Make sure you have a Business Account (It’s free and worth your time!)

  • Go to pinterest.com/business/create
  • Use your venue’s exact name as your username
  • Add your best venue photo or logo as your profile picture
  • Write a short, compelling bio that includes your location and specialty
  • Connect your website and enable rich pins to sync your venue details automatically

2. Set Up These Essential Boards:

  • “Ceremonies at [Venue Name]”
  • “Receptions & Celebrations”
  • “Getting Ready Spaces”
  • “Rainy Day Backup Plans”
  • “Real Weddings at [Venue Name]”
  • “Unique Features & Amenities”
  • “Color Stories at [Venue Name]”
  • “Table Design & Setting Inspiration”

Pro Tip: Think of your profile as a wedding magazine dedicated to your venue, with each board telling a different chapter of your story.

3. Start Pinning Your Photos

  • Use vertical images (they perform better on mobile)
  • Mix professional wedding photos with behind-the-scenes shots
  • Share seasonal setups and different lighting scenarios
  • Write descriptions that tell a story: “Say ‘I do’ under century-old oak trees at Historic Hamilton Estate”
  • Include practical details naturally (capacity, location, features)
  • Always credit your photographers and other vendors
  • Partner with photographers and planners to share real wedding content

Quick Tip: Use Pinterest’s free scheduler to plan your pins up to 30 days in advance. We love batching content!

Let me know if this kind of content is useful to you. We could plan some deeper dives if it was of interest.
